If you want to move forward with your life, but can’t seem to get a good head of steam going on your project, it’s likely because you haven’t dealt with some key Mindset Issues.
This often happens when we say we want one thing, but our ACTIONS to get that thing are inconsistent.
We say we want to lose weight, but we don’t take the ACTION to make sure we ALWAYS have healthy food choices in the house.
We say we want to let go of some stress in our life, but our ACTIONS are to continue to say “yes” when we need to say “no.”
If you have inconsistent actions, no matter how badly you want to achieve something, you will not be able to achieve it – or KEEP it – unless you solve the problem of ACTIONS matching INTENTIONS.
Oddly, the solution to this is so simple you’ve probably never thought about it.
You need to give yourself permission to change. You need to ALLOW yourself to achieve the thing you want. (click to tweet)
Now, permission giving, is not JUST an interior decision. It’s not something we just think of once and consider it “done.”
Rather, permission giving, is an ongoing process.
One way to make this work, is to Lower Your Standards. You give yourself permission to just try and not worry about your results – yet. You also decide that you already have “enough” to begin. You stop torturing yourself to get better and better before you attempt anything. You give yourself a Permission Slip.
When you give yourself permission to have the life you know you want – and you really, really mean it – you not only give yourself the time, resources, energy, and money to make the change you want – you ALSO PROTECT IT.
In other words, you DEDICATE a portion of your life toward achieving the thing you want. And you make that PORTION non-negotiable.
So, you find yourself, saying “no, thank you” to doughnuts, or extra volunteer responsibilities, or whatever – so that YOU CAN SAY YES TO YOURSELF.
So, your Life After Tampons assignment for this week, is to decide one thing that you want to create in your life and then give yourself PERMISSION to do that. Make a short check-list of all the things you need to say “yes” to yourself to allow this change.
In the Wisdom Circle comments below, stake your claim. What one thing do you want to create next? How will you give yourself permission to do that?
